One game record – two players explained it each other

I have lots of go books you know, and I found recently that the same record – there are 7 deferent books that explained each! – and that was explained each player himself.
Sakata Eio and Oo chingwien(Go Seign).
I will show you the contents that all seven books contained in December.

Black to play.

real judging -1-

We may count white territory like this below.

But I think it’s not practical method.

At first, triangle territory is not territory but just space.

And x-mark territory makes 3 points each other. ( Thinking there are nothing  – No problem. )

Square territory shall be just space if black get his sente right.

But in this situation, this is not the right of black to unilaterally.

So it can be the territory of white.

I count that square territory ( promising in this blog ) half.

My counting method :

black = 4 points, white = 10 points ( 8 + 2 )

Now, white leads by 6 points gap.

Endgame value is 10. ( each side earns real 5 points - half points of the endgame value – here. )

If it’s white turn, white earns real 5 points. ( Triangle territory is space. )

So white wins by 11 points ( 6 + 5 real points. )

If it’s black turn, black earns real 5 points here. Move 3~8 are the right of black.

So white wins by 1 point. ( 6 – 5 real points )

endgame example -1-

As you know, I used eidogo for post sgf file. But this is not work in small board like 7×7 or 13×13. So I found other program to include sgf file – goswf. But I do worry about iphone view user, because this program is flash file, iphone safari don’t applicate flash.

Anyway, I planned that – from some time in the future, every Sunday or other day, post endgame example in 7×7, 9×9, 10×10, 11×11, or 13×13.

This is the first thing.

p.s At first, black stones didn’t show. So I tested several time, and found the version problem. My first sgf version is 4.4.4. It works the lower version, so I installed 4.2.4 version, and make sgf and it works!!

[ FOR IPHONE VIEWER : This sgf file do not appear. Sorry. ]

[ Analysis ]

Fixed territory for black is 13 points.

Triangle territory is 0.5 point (1 point devided half because of half right.)

So, all territory for black is 13.5 points.

Fixed territory for white is 10 points.

Triangle territory is 1.5 points (3 points divided half because of half right.)
Square territory is 2 points (4 points devided half because of half right.)
Ko fight territory, let’s do not consider in practice.
So, all territory for white is 13.5 points.
So, draw in this situation now.

This exchange makes 1 point gap. Move 1 (3, 4 is right for black) is 4 points value, move 2 is 3 points value.
1 point gap earns real half point each other.
So black earns 0.5 point here. ( + 0.5 real point )

This exchange makes 1 point gap as well. Move 1, 2, 3 is 2 points value, move 4 is 1 point value.
1 point gap earns real half point each other.
So black earns 0.5 point here.
So black wins by 1( + 0.5 real point + 0.5 real point ) points gap.

This exchange, black has 1 point loss. ( – 0.5 real point + 0.5 real point )So the result will be draw.

This exchange, black has 1 point loss. ( + 0.5 real point – 0.5 real point )So the result will be draw.
If black has both mistakes, black will lose by 1 points gap. ( – 0.5 real point – 0.5 real point )

several opinions about endgame value

In this situation, there are several opinions about endgame value.

1. practical opinion ( 1 point )

Black 1 move values 1 point. Because when white 2, black 1 is for making 1 point by blocking black 3.

2. reasonable opinion ( 1 and 1/4 points )

After black 1 move, we don’t know who go there first. If black go first, black can make 2 points. If white go first, there is 0.5 point for black. So we can divide it half, it values 1 and 1/4.

3. special opinion (1 and 1/2 points )

Black 1 move and white 2 move is the same value. White 2 move values 1 and 1/2, so black 1 move is also the same. There is 1/2 point for black first, and black 3 and 4 make 2 points, then increased 1 and 1/2 points. If two moves make 1 and 1/2, we called 1 and 1/2 value endgame.

4. situational opinion ( 1 ~ 1 and 1/2 points )

It varies with the situation, so assuming that at this point, it is hard to say the exact value.

Now, what is right opinion do you think?

Why is not this joseki?

Black 1 move is not joseki, but maybe you have ever met this one time or more.

I think that black reluctants follow situation – the next dia.

Am I right?

But, black 1 is bad move. I will prove it now.

At the joseki we know, white usually responds at A.

Because the exchange of black 1 and white 2 is beneficial to black.

White cannot repel.

But in this situation, white need not respond.

I am convinced that anyone do not reserve this for you yet.

There would not explain a lot in baduk. It also is characteristic of baduk.

White must cut it first.

If black 1 move, white can repel.

If black 1 move, white can watch A. This is concerns of black left over.

So, black 1 move is very thick move.
